About the Role

The Role

Working closely with the Directors, you will play a vital role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the smooth running of day-to-day finance. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining bookkeeping records (sales, purchases, receipts, payments)
  • Reconciling bank accounts and managing cashflow records
  • Dealing with petty cash
  • Preparing and processing invoices, expenses, and supplier payments
  • Supporting payroll preparation and pension submissions
  • Assisting with VAT returns and other statutory reporting
  • Providing financial data to support management accounts and funding reports
  • Organising and maintaining financial documentation for both businesses
  • Liaising with accountants and external stakeholders as needed

What We’re Looking For

We’d love to hear from candidates who bring:

  • Proven bookkeeping experience (ideally in small business / SME or charity environments)
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and reconciliation processes
  • Experience with accounting software such as Xero, Sage, or QuickBooks
  • Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills
  • High attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage priorities across two businesses
  • A positive, professional, and flexible approach
