About the Role
The Role
Working closely with the Directors, you will play a vital role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the smooth running of day-to-day finance. Your responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining bookkeeping records (sales, purchases, receipts, payments)
- Reconciling bank accounts and managing cashflow records
- Dealing with petty cash
- Preparing and processing invoices, expenses, and supplier payments
- Supporting payroll preparation and pension submissions
- Assisting with VAT returns and other statutory reporting
- Providing financial data to support management accounts and funding reports
- Organising and maintaining financial documentation for both businesses
- Liaising with accountants and external stakeholders as needed
What We’re Looking For
We’d love to hear from candidates who bring:
- Proven bookkeeping experience (ideally in small business / SME or charity environments)
- Knowledge of accounting principles and reconciliation processes
- Experience with accounting software such as Xero, Sage, or QuickBooks
- Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills
- High attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities across two businesses
- A positive, professional, and flexible approach
