About the Role
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate saws, mitre saws, and other cutting machinery to cut aluminium profiles and extrusions to precise specifications for use in architectural facades.
- Measure, mark, and cut aluminium sections based on blueprints and technical drawings for curtain wall systems, window frames, and other façade components.
- Inspect raw materials (aluminium profiles) for quality and suitability before processing, ensuring they meet project specifications.
- Ensure all cuts are accurate and meet required tolerances while minimizing material wastage. Regularly maintain and calibrate cutting machinery to ensure it operates efficiently and accurately.
- Perform quality control checks on cut aluminium pieces, ensuring they meet the required standards for finish, size, and structural integrity.
- Work closely with the design and fabrication teams to ensure seamless integration of components for various architectural projects.
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines while working with machinery and handling materials.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring tools and equipment are properly stored and maintained. Assist in the packaging and preparation of aluminium components for delivery to project sites.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience working with aluminium materials and cutting machinery in a fabrication or manufacturing environment.
- Ability to operate mitre saws, circular saws, and other cutting equipment with precision. Strong understanding of aluminium profiles and their applications in architectural facades.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and production orders.
- Excellent measuring and math skills to ensure accurate cutting and sizing.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and practices when working with cutting equipment and aluminium materials.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality components.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Work Environment:
Work is primarily performed in an industrial manufacturing environment. Exposure to noise, dust, and machinery is expected. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required, including safety goggles, ear protection, gloves, and steel-toed boots. The role may involve physical tasks, including lifting and handling large aluminium profiles.
